Community Engagement and Sustainability
Pure Amazon is dedicated to responsible tourism, establishing partnerships with Nueva Arica, a local Indigenous community, and Amanatari, a nonprofit organization that empowers Amazonian Indigenous peoples. These collaborations support several bio-business initiatives, such as honey production and natural fiber crafting. Guests on three-night itineraries can visit Nueva Arica projects, fostering a deeper connection with local culture.
Supporting Indigenous Education and Culture
All guests have the opportunity to visit the Formabiap, also known as the Bilingual Teacher Training Program for the Peruvian Amazon, which serves over 200 Indigenous students from four distinct communities. Visitors can engage with traditional dances and healing rituals during these immersive experiences, enriching their understanding of the local way of life.
Exceptional Service and Eco-Friendly Design
The Pure Amazon prides itself on an impressive staff-to-guest ratio of 1:1, ensuring personalized service throughout the journey. Efforts have been made to incorporate eco-friendly features, such as low-level lighting designed to protect the area’s nocturnal wildlife.
With the launch of the Pure Amazon, Abercrombie & Kent is joining a growing list of luxury operators expanding into South American river cruising. This new venture offers guests a unique opportunity to explore one of the world’s most biodiverse ecosystems while enjoying top-tier amenities and services.
